There is a possibility you landed here because you saw our sailing yacht El Galante somewhere and read www.elgalante.nl on it. Because El Galante is ‘en las Islas Canarias’ there is also a possibility that you’re not from Holland. That’s why this text is in English.
El Galante is the 22th Gallant 53 built by Southern Ocean Shipyards in Poole UK, in 1973. Designed by E.G. van de Stadt and in that years rewarded for her excellence in design and construction.
We, Dreas Hermans and Gerlinde Zoodsma, are sailing with her since 2007. First from Harlingen, in the north of Holland. We did day chartering and management- and team trainings on board. In 2011 we started to sail to different countries, like UK, Norway and Spain. Since 2014 El Galante did not see her home port. She was in the south of Spain and around the Atlantic Islands. She’s not home-sick at all.
El Galante has room for eight guests. Modern yachts are much wider and more luxurious than the classic ones but the Gallant 53 is still an attractive yacht.
